Welcome to the Ghost Fox photo credit guidelines. Here, we outline our policy for using images associated with Ghost Fox Toys.
As a Portland-based toy studio, we encourage creativity and collaboration. If you wish to use our images, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Always credit Ghost Fox Toys when using our images.
- Provide a link back to our official website, ghostfoxtoys.com.
- Images should not be altered or manipulated without prior permission.
- Usage should align with the playful and artistic spirit of our brand.
For any inquiries or special requests regarding image use, please contact us directly. We appreciate your support in promoting Ghost Fox Toys!
Putting the Guidelines into Practice
A good credit is easy to spot and hard to separate from the image. Place it directly beneath or beside the photo rather than in a footer or a list of sources at the end of a long post. A simple line such as Photo: Ghost Fox Toys works well in articles, while on social media the credit belongs in the caption itself, not only in a tag that viewers might miss. If you share several of our images in one gallery or thread, a single clear credit near the top is fine, as long as it obviously covers every picture.
What counts as an alteration
Resizing an image to fit your layout or compressing it for faster loading is normal and needs no special request. Cropping out part of a figure, changing colours, adding filters, overlaying text, combining our photos with other artwork or removing backgrounds goes further, because it changes how the toy and the studio's work are presented. When in doubt, ask first through our contact page and describe what you have in mind.
Your own photos of our toys
Collectors often photograph figures on their shelves, in dioramas or out on Portland streets, and we love seeing it. Those pictures are yours. You don't need to credit the studio as photographer, though naming the figure or collection helps other fans find it. If you'd like to see what a piece is called, the Collections page is a handy reference.
Commercial and press use
Reviews, blog features and fan posts generally fit the spirit described above. Using images in advertising, on packaging, for merchandise or to promote another business is different and always requires written permission before publication. Press and editorial requests are welcome too; letting us know the outlet and intended use lets us supply the most suitable images rather than a low-resolution copy saved from a web page.
If an image is ever shared without credit, a friendly note to the person posting it usually resolves things quickly, and most people are glad to add the attribution once they know.
